Mariam Pirbhai is an associate professor in the Department of English and Film Studies at Wilfrid Laurier University. Pirbhai is the author of several academic works on diasporic writing, and the author of a debut collection of short fiction, Outside People and Other Stories (Inanna, 2017). She is the president of CACLALS, Canada’s leading literary association of postcololonial studies.
