The CAA Awards Luncheon is the organization's annual event for announcing the winners of the Canadian Authors Association Literary Awards. The awards are held every year in a number of categories and honour writing that achieves excellence without sacrificing popular appeal. Keynote speakers at previous awards ceremonies include Nino Ricci, Alistair MacLeod, Terry Fallis, and Tomson Highway. Each award winner receives a cash prize. This year’s awards categories include fiction, poetry, Canadian history, emerging writer under 30, and the first annual Fred Kerner Book Award given to a CAA member for a book in any genre.
